II.                EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

1.      From August 2018 up to now: Part-time Masters student in Conflicts Analysis and Inclusive Development at Mbarara University in Uganda.

2.      From 2009 up to 2014: BCs in Rural Development, Department of Environment and Sustainable Development at ISDR/Bukavu.

III.             PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES

-          From 2016 to now: IdeasForUs-DRCongo Branch Country programme manager.

-          From 3 September 2013 up to now: Research Assistant at OVG/Goma, and I interfere in the outreach campaign about volcanoes related risks and preparedness policies to Goma population and it surroundings.

-          From 2015 to Now: Volunteer at Catholic Youth Network for Sustainability in Africa.  In the following, I care for restoration in terms of involving young man and women in tree planting, guiding discussions about the promotion of environmental values and sustainable development, exchanging experiences and promoting peace and cohabitation between the youth from Cyangugu/Rwanda and Burundi and DRCongo at the American corner in Gisenyi/Rwanda, caring for sanitation, sustainable development and promotion of the SDGs.

-          From September 3, 2016 to now: Part-time trainer of Spanish language at Promoting Youth through Education "PYE” in Goma/DRCongo;

-          From January 2016 to May 2018: Community mobilizer at Pleaders of Children and Elderly People at Risk, PEPA/NGO,

-          From 2017 to now: Visiting teacher, Translator and Interpreter of languages, English, Spanish and French at the Brotherly Training Center, BTC in Goma/DRCongo.

-          From 20 October up to 20 February 2015: From 20 October 2014 to 20 February 2015: Supervisor/TEAMLEADER at BEPAD-action during a baseline study lead at Rutsuru and Nyiragongo, on food security, WASH, Land access , health, Education, funded by IOM in East Part of DRC;

-       From 24th to 28th February 2020: Training on the Qualitative Research Methods, Data analysis and data collection, conducted by the Institute of Development Policy of the University of Antwerp, the Flemish Inter-University Council (VLIR-UOS) and Mbarara university of Science and Technology in Mbarara/Uganda.

-       From 19th to 22nd February 2020: Training on data collection and pilot study organized by the Vrije universiteit and the Institute for Tropical Forest Conservation (ITFC) in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda.

-       25 January 2020: Training on the Responsible Research and Innovation organized by the Network for education and multidisciplinary Research Africa (NEMRA) and the Faculty of Interdisciplinary studies of Mbarara University of Science and technology, in Mbarara/Uganda.

-       From 2nd to 4th December 2019:  Training on the Common Ground Approaches, organized by Search for Common Ground (SFCG) at Planet Hotel in Goma/DRCongo.

-       From 25th to 28th November 2019:  Second workshop on ‘Valuation of ecosystem services in the Greater Virunga Landscape, organized by the Vrije Universiteit and the Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration GVTC, in Musanze/Rwanda.   

-       From 6th- 8th November 2019: Training on social Change, Humanity Principles, SGBV, Dignity and Rights with Dr Catherine Huser from Act-Church alliance Sweden in Rwamwanja Refugee settlement in Uganda, with the Lutheran World Federation, LWF-Uganda.

-       From 15th to 16th July 2019: Attending the International Conference on the occasion of the 4th Anniversary of the encyclical letter Laudato Si’ and the 5th Anniversary of Catholic Youth Network on Environmental Sustainability in Africa (CYNESA) at the UNEP in Nairobi, under the theme.  Laudato Si’ Generation: Young People Caring for Our Common Home, Our Mother Earth’

-       From 1st to 3rd July 2019: Attending the academic workshop on Critical Conflict Analysis in and around the protected areas, organized under the framework of 3C project, led by Dr Koen Vlasenroot and Dr Esher Marijnen from Ghent University, supported by the Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration (GVTC), the Search for Common Ground (SFCG), the Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature (ICCN),  Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), Institute for High Education of Rwanda (INES) and Goma Vocano Observatory (GVO) in Musanze/Rwanda.

-       From 23rd to 30th April 2019: Practicum in the Chamber of Mediation, focusing on listening and settling misunderstanding between the defendants and the plaintiffs, mediation techniques  at the Mbarara high court in Mbarara/Uganda,

-       From 25th February to 2nd March 2019: Training on manuscript writing techniques (papers, articles, proposals, journals…), organized by the Mbarara University Research Training Initiative at Adit Mall in Mbarara/Uganda.

-       From 21st   to 25th January 2019: Training on Qualitative Research methodology organized by the Mbarara University Research Training Initiative at University Inn, at Mbarara/Uganda.

-       From 1st to 25th September 2018: Online training on the Landscape Restoration by the Youth in Landscape, CIFOR, the Agro forestry Center and the Global Landscape Forum. I am now Restoration Ready.

-       From 29th to 30th September 2018: Attending the Global Landscapes Forum organized by the World Agro forestry Centre, The Youth in Landscapes and the UN environment at the UN-headquarters in Nairobi/Kenya. My main task in this conference was to volunteer as a repporteur, 

-       From 27th to 28th September 2018: Workshop on the YiL Leadership Development at ICRAF campus in Nairobi/Kenya

    Eliode BAKOLE has over 4 years of experience in the community development sector, specifically focusing on Advocacy. Currently, Eliode is a Program Manager Assistant at Pleaders of Children and Elderly People at Risk, PEPA/NGO, where he focuses on advocating for children, single mothers, vulnerable women and drug users in the North Kivu province in DRCongo. Eliode is graduated in Rural Development/Environment and Sustainable Development at ISDR/Bukavu, South Kivu province in DRCongo. Eliode is driven by his commitment to fight vulnerability and wants to see not only positive changes in his country but in his continent. Upon completion of the YALI RLCEA training, Eliode aims to keep on doing and improving his activities about advocating, looking for supporters, Sponsors and bringing innovation in his work. Furthermore, he wants to bring vulnerable women, children and drug users in caring for the protection of the environment by planting trees so as to fight together the common threat which is climate change.
